A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck close to Istanbul, shaking buildings in Turkey’s largest metropolis and prompting folks to flee condominium blocks.
The quake on Wednesday was measured at a depth of 6.92 km (4.3 miles), Turkey’s emergency service says.

The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 12:49 native time (09:49 GMT) was within the space of Silivri, about 80 km (50 miles) west of Istanbul.
